A conversation with Artist and Illustrator Janine Gibbons discussing the two new children’s picture books she has illustrated for Highwater Press. Jigging for Halibut with Tsinii and Learning to Carve Argillite are written by Sara Florence Davidson and Robert Davidson with illustrations by Janine Gibbons. The stories are about experiences Artist and Master Haida Carver Robert Davidson had with his own Tsinii (Haida for Grandfather). Janine discusses her process for illustrating children’s picture books along with all the research she puts into each project. These books are part of a four-book series, and the next two books will be released in the Fall of 2022.
